I was just given a Nikon N8008 35mm camera, with two Nikon lenses (35-135mm AF & 70-300mm AF) and a Nikon SB-25 flash. Everything is in perfect working condition, except the flash - the shoe is broken, but I imagine this is something easily fixed. I did some quick research on Ebay, and neither of t...

I had mentioned that Academy Sports had them for 999.99 AT... A SKB made Weatherby is a great gun. I would shy away from the Ital...

Re: Sorry for this Camera thread

Well, after all of these threads I am convinced to ditch the Canon SD400 point-and-shoot and go with an SLR with a good lens. I don't know squat about cameras but am willing to learn. I am good with images and photo editing, etc. and take a lot of pictures. I feel limited with my existing camera, w...

To me it could stand to be -1 or2 stops. The ears look a little washed out. I too would try to shoot at 1/125 or faster. It looks like the detail on your dog is a little muddy. It might be some movement. Nice shot!

To me and to countless others a Grouse dog is a setter! Don't get me wrong, I have hunted behind some great shorthairs. When I think of shorthairs I "think" pheasants. And when I "think" of grouse I think of setters. When I think of quail I "think" of pointers AND setters. http://members3.boardhost....

Considering this other dogs,I assume that the dog does well with other dogs. This would be a 10 hour round trip so a "try out" would proablly not be an option. I guess I worry most about the socialization @ 6 months.

Is a 6 month old pup too late to start?

I talked to a guy that has a 6 month old setter that he wants to sell. He said that he just doesn't have the time to train the dog (has 15 dogs in his kennel). He has not worked the dog at all. He said that it was his pick of the litter that he was going to keep. He said that the dog had lots of poi...

Also, I should add one more thing since one of the reasons for an auto over a o/u was the third shot. Almost all the time, the third shot is a hail mary, or to take care of a cripple. Two shots is really all you need and you really won't miss the third shot. In the grouse woods, if you get two shot...

If you have been looking at the Nikon D40x and the D80 you should really rethink that and concider the D40.
