Maybe some of the setter guys will know if I got it correct or not. She's still nameless at this point.

I found this one covers well and is very durable. Loin country is a great vendor. If you find it doesn't work for you they will take it back. Besides, we want to support our board sponsors.

1st, I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your older Setter. 2nd, That is one beautiful lil Setter gal! I'm a Shorthair guy, but that is one great looking Setter pup! 3rd and I beg your forgiveness, I'll typically look at the names of the parents and pick one name from each to form a name when someone ...

Name Game
Well, some of you might have remembered my posts about our 4yo setter that had kidney failure. We had her put down the Monday before X-mas. After a lot of research and debate with the better half, we finally decided on a replacement pup. Now the name game has begun. http://www.hunt101.com/data/500/C...

I honestly don't think the breed has much to do with it as far as this topic goes. I think its more the blood lines. No matter what breed you get if the pup comes from good breeding it should hit the ground with the right instincts. My first dog I was 18 years old and bought a 7 month old Setter th...

What's up with Perfection Kennels?
I want to take a seminar this spring and I E-mailed them twice to see what thier dates and locations were for 2008. I got NO response. I would really like to know if they will be close to me this spring and what thier prices are. Hickox is giving one in STL in April and I don't want to miss that one...

How many guys on here carry anti-venom in the field
I was reading somewhere that all states except AK and Maine have poisonous snakes and that everyone should carry a snake bite kit in the field. The article stated that if your dog does get bit that without this first aid they will most likely die. Now I live in Central Illinois and have never seen a...

As one who is looking to replace a dog that I had to put down, I can say that I have not run into too many breeders that don't have prices. The thing that bothers me is breeders that want $850 for a pup out of one of their brood bitches because they paid a stud fee to a champion dog. Both dogs come ...

Any bird hunting around Prescot AZ?
After the untimely death of my 4 yo old setter, I've decided my wife and I need to get away for a few days in January. She has an aunt in Prescot that we're thinking of staying with. Now I've told her that this is just a getaway for me and her. But I don't see why she can't spend a day with her aunt...

I would have to agree that a good GSP would probably make a better pheasant dog than a good setter. The ones I've hunted behind just seem to trail running birds better because they work slower and keep their nose to to ground. I have never seen a GSP that could match the nose of my best setter. On q...

I've been doing some searching around a few local stores for either a Canon 40D or a Nikon 200D - and everybody is sold out of the Canon, especially the kit with a lens. The Nikon costs a bit more too, and even that is in short supply. Must be good cameras! :D Not sure how local this is. But, these...

What Charlie said. Saved me a lot of typing! "I would ask your vet to sign off on his conclusions as to why the dog got sick and send it too the breeder. Breeders and congenital defects
How do you think that breeders do and should deal with congenital defects? As some of you might have saw in another post of mine, I found out that my 4 yo setter has renal failure. We had no idea there was a problem till now. The vet said that she most likely had kidney problems from birth and it ha...
