I say get that dog a chest protector! What does he run thru to get beat up like that? I have had dogs go over wire and get tore up in that area. They get on a retrieve and that is all they focus on it seems. Nice looking dogs, she is very dark for liver. Bryers, these things are the worst, and are ...

Most the labs around here do about the same thing your dog does so why not hunt him. I think you could get him to point "I believe any dog will point or just stand there with enough training" but don't know if you would need to put the work in for that if he is in gun range then why worry about it? ...

Thats my experience also, and if labs can point he might be able to also  . I have heard if you take a solid liver GSP and breed it to a chocolate lab you can get some real nice pointing chocolate labs. :? I trained a pointing lab before, it pointed birds but "not much stlye". I think that one...

The fly posion is called Golden Malrin. It is a pellet type posion. You put it in a baking pan enough to cover half the bottom. Then just put any pop on it but don't use diet. Pour the pop in so it is about 3/8 inch high in the pan. Mix together and it makes like a guey liquid. Put it out and anythi...

Oh, if you don't have other animals out there I have the best solution. It is a combination of a fly posion and pepsi. It kills anything dead as a door nail. Coons won't make it 10 feet. I will get the name of the fly posion if you want it. This stuff kills anything period and right now. The probelm...

Re: pigeons
How often do pigeons lay eggs? I am sure there is something you can do to get them lay all year possibly? I am just wondering the regular cycle, I am assuming spring time as the weather get warmer but uncertain. They can lay every 10 days. They usually won't lay anouther round until the first squab...

I use 1/2 x 1/2 wire cloth on anything that is not wood. I then use a predator door on the traps. The only time my birds are out is when they are used for training. I keep the trap closed and locked up with the predator door all the time. When animals are successful they get very persistant. When th...

The first question many people are asked when they think some thing is not right or that they may have cancer is? How many people in your family have had cancer? Greg is right. Not that it could not be done, but it is not done that way. The reason is, it would be useless cause the bird would only fly from one location to anouther but the location would not change. Here is a example of how it could be done. There is a system called a boomerang system. This sy...

I have 5 coops. 2 are 8 x 16 and the other 3 are 4 x 8 red rose lofts with 3 foot aviaries. I have one old loft that is in the pic above. It has a concrete floor and is perminate but all the other are wood floors and are movable. I use deep litter of pine shavings. 2 inches deep on the floor. I just...

I don't know if dogs are diffferent than people but I can tell you with 100 percent certianty that there is a cancer gene in humans. Plus they can test for it. Also not all people have the gene that get cancer. I have talked with some of the best cancer people in the country over the last couple yea...

When cleaning droppings it is a great idea to use a mask. The dry stuff is the worst cause it gets airborn. The breeder boxes will be fine that size. I would divide them only if I had more pairs of birds than boxes. The large boxes are great but I don't think the birds will lay a second round in the...

The shouler mount is just something cool to have. Not too many people have a pheasant shoulder mount. I caught that smally at the maumee river here in NW ohio. I accually hooked it when I was on top of the dam and thought it was a catfish. I reeled it up to the dam and it jumped up onto the bottom o...

Cancer can be gentic and then it may not be, in humans that is. I am sure it would be that way in dogs also. They can now look at human genes and see if it is genetic or not. I don't know if this is possiable with dogs but don't know why not other than extreme costs. So to answer your question maybe...

I pay 11.00 for a really good pigeon feed. You have to shop around sometimes. You should keep grit it the pen all the time. Most pigeon feeds will have corn, milo, peas (canadian or australian), wheat, barley, safflower. That kind of stuff. Right now I feed a high percentage of whole corn added to t...

These are old birds? They have flown before? From a loft that was not yours? Have they been raced? If you are answering yes to these questions then you will have to keep them in like don said. Re: e-collar
I have seen this lots of times I believe there is some confusion but it is not the dogs fault. Most will do this, and sometimes when I am hunting where there are other people this will happen when I call her "no shock collar involved". I have also learned from hunt testing that sometimes you have to...
