I live in Southeastern Kentucky real close to TN and the bird population is absolutely pathetic. Grouse numbers are putred and quail are very few and far in between. I hunt with some guys from TN and they say that the birds just aren't there.

I have had a few real good dogs from Honky Tonk. Another one of my feidl trialing buddies has had good luck out of Honky Tonk as well. They just seem to have alot of natural instinct.

Good luck finding a 60lb. brittany. That would be Brittany-the-Hut. Nolan's Last Bullet is all the rage in the Brittany world from what I hear. It was the most winnigest dog in the NSTRA. Anything with those type lines I guess would be good.

To me setters have always been the model grouse dog. Their the ones you see on the cover of magazines always hunting grouse and they are what I have always had apart from some of my pointers.
