ever had hunting success with a rescue?
I was just wondering if anyone has ever had any success either hunting with or training a rescued gsp. Me and my wife are seriously looking into it. I'm currently laid off from my job for a few weeks so i've been spending a lot of time watching animal planets show animal cops and it just makes me fe...

Re: Problems with roommates dog! HELP!
solution #1 get a new roommate sorry but i am a little bias here, i hate pitbulls and i usually don't like their owners either (they are usually wanna be gang bangers at least where i'm from). i live in a very small town and both of my neighbors have pitbulls, one has 2 and the other has 3. one jump...

Re: gsp seizures... help!!!
this may have nothing to do with your dogs seizures but may be something to be aware of. my parents live out in the country and their yard has maybe 150 trees on it and maybe 1/5 of those being walnut trees. we used to have the scariest lookin mut that we got as a stray, he was a black lab chow mix,...

Re: Mature size
The dog i purchased was the runt of the litter. hes about 11months now and is only 45lbs. although in the last few months i haven't noticed any height increase but hes getting more muscular even with the little bit of weight loss from the hunting season. the reason we picked the runt was because he ...

Re: Best adult food for my active gsp
So what i'm getting from this post is as long as its fresh, my dog likes it and its not the cheapest stuff out there I can't really go wrong? from reading other posts i'm leaning towards either black gold or native level 3. I would like to get native but its just harder to get, i can have it shipped...

Re: Spinal Fracture??
When my pup was just about 5 months we were going to a nearby hay field to do some training and on the way he jumped out my truck window that was half way rolled down. He fractured his left hip and had some major road rash. we went to several vets and 3 recommended bed rest and one said surgery. How...

Re: Good double barrel around $500
I have had a stoeger uplander supreme for almost two years and can't complain one bit. it is one of the cheapest, if not cheapest sxs you can buy but in my opinion it is a great gun. if you want a double and can't afford to lay down $1000+ (like me) then i would recommend this gun. has good wood on ...

Re: innotech Ecollars are junk
i have an innotek contain n train system for keeping the dog in the yard the electric fence portion works fine but when you trying and use the collar for any training it is worthless as they get. never works, batteries always die in the remote too. for hunting and training i now use a sportdog 1800 ...

Best adult food for my active gsp
I have an 11 month old male GSP that is my first personal hunting dog, although i grew up around yellow labs. I would like to switch my dog to adult food at 1year. He is very active and will continue to be once the weather warms up, i'm planning on training him a lot this spring for his JH test. He ...
