Gonehunting says it is and thats good enough for me hes a very sharp retriever man, I've never seen it. Evan's system has an excelllent reputation among the retriever guys I know and I know some good ones. Like pointer guys they are all full of it. When I was training labs VCRs and CD/DVD players di...

How much exercise is this dog getting ???? sounds like she needs more I would do that and I would also get a good book or CD with a complete program and just start from scratch just like a pup in three months you wil have a trained dog good for the next 12 years or better with a little luck I would ...

IMO the solid wall is a mistake the birds will recall much better if they can see the other birds through the hardware cloth and you need a door on that pen you can close at night or something will get in there and kill them. I put a small flat rock in front of the funnel to get them up to the right...

the most basic principle of dog training is don't set the dog up to fail Its your responsibility puppy proof your house just like you would babyproof a house if you had a small child IE take the crap off your tables, put the food bin in a closet ect you can very gently grab the scruff of her neck and...

If he points butterflies at least you know he has point in him I would work him without any birds in fields and see if he starts pointing tweety birds ( which he can't catch) and just let him continue to gain some confidence I would at the same time be gently work on a solid "here" then I would take...

shooting a running deer with a drilling is fairly easy if they are close which they usaully are.
I've killed them on a dead run out to 100 yards however most shots are within 40 yards usaully less.

deer get wounded just like birds it happens and our dogs are the best insurance against wasteing them something as small as a twig can deflect a bullet and trun a well placed shot into a gut shot I've done it and I've killed well over 150 deer in my life probably about 50 of them over my GSPs points...

the only thing I would not do is allow a bunch of guys to shoot over him, a dog does not need multiple hunters blazing away over him in his first year, really ever.
SO take him with just you or one trusted friend and take him as many times as you can
good luck
