Prey drive has more to do with the individual dog than it does with the breed. He is too young to tell too much yet but I agree with keeping quiet when running him on birds. It sounds like you are causing some unnecessary pressure.

I wonder if these people have ever researched and considered how many times a gun has saved a child and others. I am sure they haven't because saving lives is really not the issue with them. They just simply hate guns, due to extreme ignorance of firearms, propaganda and indoctrination.

During training for jumping up I let the dog drag a leash around. As he goes to jump up I step on the leash and the leash takes him down. They get the message pretty fast. Hotdog pieces are hard to beat. I don't use them real often but they make me feel good, more than any benefit to training the puppy. It is just a treat. Now as far as getting a puppy into the water and swimming, as others have already said, Cheetos work wonders.

I have experienced this once in a while over the years with young, inexperienced dogs. I don't think there is anything of great concern. IMO, she will come out of it with age and experience.
