Re: Ames events?
I was one of two judges at a trial this past weekend. The trial was held on 2,500 acres of land on the Cumberland Plateau, in Tn. There have been approximately 30 hunts on this private land this year. The course was continuous and the dogs had to hunt for the birds, as no handler knew the course be...

Re: Range/Trial Question
They have dog of the year awards and have championships and ran like nothing you ever saw. Now they won't mess with a bird. Can't get them to run and you wouldn't believe the video on them from just a few years ago. They were man made. I know that because I work now with the man that made them. They...

Re: Great Lakes Wolf Hunting
I find it amazing that we can restock the Wolf with years of reserch and $dollars and can't figure out a way to reintroduce or repopulate Quail. :) The wolf has no loss of habitat; they roam millions of acres. Quail and pheasant need cover. Stop farmers from plowing under game bird habitat and the ...

Good dogs get it done no matter the birds the rest are just excuses for not getting it done. If your running a dog with not enough nose your not going to beat good dogs week in & week out.

Re: Lesser Breeds
Gentlemen, 1st there is no such thing as a lesser breed, this wording came about here in the USA because the FT crowd actually believes their animals are somehow superior to other gun dogs, which is pure bull. Having owned many different gun dogs and trained even more, each gun dog is bred to do a ...

Thanks, Jim, but I think I'm gonna have to cool it for awhile. Shawnee, being the closes area, is about an hour-and-half and it's a good $30 round trip. Went four times last week. The comments at the bottom should be a wake up call as how hunting & trial dogs need to get on the same page.Lots of animal rights folks have no ideal about working dogs or any other animal for that matter they see it as abuse. I bet the guidelines for shipping a dog get tighter soon because of this...
