I think there's good representives of most of the lines.Depends on their genetics and natural abilities they're born with.My lines of choice are Elhew,Guardrail,Miller,or a combination of those lines.

ALSO IN MY POSTs -"along with all the other good attributes" True- if you breed for one specific trait you'll sometimes loose some of the total picture,and sometimes Alot of the total picure. Breed to an opposite partner that has a High tail set and Straight tail.You may not eridicate the problem with one breeding but it's a start.You can end up with some pups that still has the fault and some that doesn't.Keep something and breed in the future from ones who doesn't have the fault to oth...

Second the call to Jimmy Emerson at Clearspring Kennels.I've known him since the 70's and he's a stand up honest Bird Dog Man and a Pro.He's had good success running Pointers and Setters.He had a good one in his string when he was campaigning not long ago.Bluebell Promise(Gridiron son).

If I'm not mistaken Frank Henderson owns Calico Kennels and the Tracys own Tracehaven Kennels.Not sure if Mike Tracy still has the Setter Stone Tavern Matrix or not(a Good one)Top winner and producer.I heard that Matrix was sold not long ago.Matrix has to be getting up there in age though.

There are some good field trial Setter breeders out there.Alot more then there use to be.Where are you located in the Northeast? I have a friend in Md.that has been pretty sucessful in Horseback trials with his Setters and breeds a litter now and then.Some breeders on the link below,but most are out...

Dogs with this problem should NEVER even be considered for breeding even if they could.It can be passed on to the next generation,and also can become Cancerous. I "bleep" sure wouldn't buy a pup from anyone who had this in their lines or condones breeding it. I would ask for a refund or another pup,...
