In that photo mostly juniper, pinon pine, douglas fir, englemens spruce, and ponderosa. Other fire locations had mostly aspen. No beetle kill down here yet but certainly on its way.

We got evacuated due to a wildfire a few days ago. Thought for sure we would loose or place but so far it has made it. The fire got within a quarter mile and was crowning when the back burn beat it. That is all kind of what I was thinking. If I got an extended cab setup it would make life easier and since I will be changing over from a slide in four wheel camper to a pull behind I don't need all of that bed space except for when I get firewood and I can always pull a trailer for that.

Put the long set of prongs on if it came with it. if you can fit 3 fingers under the collar it is too loose. a snug 2 fingers is good. Get it too tight, then back off a notch. Try placing prongs directly under head with each between esophagus. When all else fails just get him nice and wet first.

I think it is more common to get random health defects than anything else. Not sure anyone could nail a percentage. The nice thing about retriever training and building a natural retrieve is this; If it doesn't work it isn't really that big of a deal because later down the road you can (should) force fetch anyways, that works. How long has he had the runs? Giardiasis can be difficult to diagnose if they miss the shedding cycle. Stay away from high protein foods. Give it a week after changing food to see if it makes a difference.
