FWIW - I know for a fact, from more than one professional trainer/handler, that there are dogs that WILL NOT run when they have the Astro on. They will stay right in front of the horse and go absolutely nowhere. Put a tracker collar on the same dog and it is GONE...outta here. Can they tell the dif...

Welcome...did you know of Tom Loy, he breeds Gordons under the Tallgrass kennel name. He lived near Grand Forks for a while, worked at the AFB. Then he moved out to Idaho.

What I see the amateur do....when they don't have their dog, they stop. All the pros will ride to the front, IMO for two reasons. 1)They trust the dog is to the front and, 2) by riding to the front it opens more area for the scout to go look for the dog. The amateurs handcuff their scouts unnecessar...

Did you register the entire litter? Or do have have the AKC "blue" papers that need to be filled out and then sent in...I guess I could debate that the dog isn't registered until the paperwork is filled out and the $35 bones sent to AKC. As you well know, some buyers don't register their dog.

A divided find...As a judge, with brief consult with the judging partner, will declare a find divided. Then I let the handlers work out which will flush...and sometimes they both flush. Before they do flush, I tell them that one shot will suffice. And both handlers normally bust a cap. :roll:
