Re: GSP coat
I think it has a lot to do with genetics, as well as food. When you've been around a lot of different lines of shorthairs you can see the differences in the coats. There are thin wirey coats, thick wirey coats, thin soft coats thick soft coats, European coats. I really dig the euro coat. Thick,soft,...

Re: How do you secure your dog crate to your Truck/SUV
On my drawers I put a locking pin on top and drilled holes in the plastic crates on four bottom corners with big washers inside the crate. It holds them down really good. Throw a kennel mat or blanket down and the pins are cushioned under. If you wanted to you could screw down hangars on each side o...

Big swill, It's all a gamble. You can pair up the two top notch dogs in the country and they can throw sour pups. But by taking two dogs back by placements in the pedigrees your odds of making good genetics for the next generation are better IMO.. There is only so much you can do to " make" a dog. I...

If you're looking at a pup to breed to your current dog, I wouldn't endorse that route anyway. I don't think you get the best breeding possible by limiting yourself to the 2 dogs you own. Why not? What if the two dogs you own compliment one another better then any stud you have looked at? What then...

Unless you have hunted behind the dogs and you know they have what it takes I would put a ton of emphasis on the titles. Plus a pedigree that you can light up in red for the first 3-4 generations is just awesome.

Don't see no harm in going back to cc. But for backing it might be easier on you to use the ecollar. Hit her when she moves before you can get there. And also when you see her see the other dog and she ignores, you can whoa her up using the collar. When I'm training backing I stand infront and to th...

The only personality change you'll probably see is a change in drive. If its a good trainer he'll have you pup on a lot of birds and build his confidence.
See the pup as much as you can. A trainer that has a problem with you showing up out of the blue is a problem to begin with.

doesn't sound like the dog has a problem. More handler/gunner issue. Dogs aren't docked points for taking a few steps to see around an object to see shot bird land.
Try staying out of the way of dogs view of bird. You'll probably see a big difference .
