They are bobs -- The bobs swing only in and let the pigeons on the landing board enter the building -- the bobs do not swing to the outside, thus preventing the pigeons from escaping the building.

Re: Million dollar question! Setter or gsp need some help.
My hunting buddy has a berg bros(MN) male english setter. It's a fast hunter(it quarters, instead of running lines), has a decent nose, listens, and is the fastest out & directly back(on the run) retriever I have ever seen
Plus it's a good house dog. Good luck getting your pup.

I get my dogs rabies shots every 3 years. I give my dogs kennel cough vaccine down the nose once a year. I give my dogs 10 way shots once a year. I give my dogs interceptor for heartworm and worm prevention once a month YEAR Round. It is cheap prevention compared to treating the dog if it catches so...

Go to menards, lowes, Home Depot, or a lumber store and ask for 22cal nail gun loads(like CJ said Ramset). They are used in the old style 22cal nail guns to drive nails into lumber. They come like in 5 different levels(usually under $10 /100)--stick with the weakest 2 levels otherwise they are prett...

you said you have a problem with the come command, so I'll pick that one to answer. Come is usually pretty easy to teach. It will take two people, a couple of 15 foot ropes, and a couple handfuls of kibble. Each person ties a rope to the dogs collar. Both people sit down about 15 feet apart from eac...

If you get pigeons, get young ones that haven't flown out of the loft--that way they will think of your loft as home and return there. If you get adult birds they will home to the other guys loft if you fly them--then you won't have the calf or the pigeons  If you do get adults, keep them penn...

My kit was pretty much what Garrison has for the truck. Along what he has listed for his vest, I also used to carry a small rope set up for coni bear traps. small vice grips for quill removal, and heavy duty side cutters for cutting snares in my vest.

One thing about getting a started or trained dog, you will have an idea about his hunting ability and how calm he is when not hunting. I agree with looking at britts, pointers, & setters. You might also look at Vizslas as well--the ones I've been around are pretty mellow and hunt close. Good luck fi...

Frank-- Wahl clippers with either a 3/8 or 1/2 inch snap on is all I use to use for my brits for Summer cuts and getting ready for Fall hunting. I had 5 britts at the time and I'd get a $25 set at Walmart. I'd cut all 5 and then get a new set of clippers for next year--after cutting 5 dogs the clipp...
