Ace- I would recommend that FC post on the PDJ website. It is very simple to follow, and you already have a resourse that will pretty much answer any of your questions. I have a buddy that I sent to that link and he is having nothing but fun following it and watching his little gsp improve everytime...

I have to go the other way...the length I use and prefer is 12'. It has worked out perfect. Like Snips I had REI cut down a static climbing rope. Combine that w/ a Dave Walker pinch collar and you are ready to rock and roll.

Razor- check the Idaho Hunting thread out...towards the end. My pups are shorthairs not pointers. Just have longer tails, thats all. Are you kidding, most pointers would kill to be as good looking as my gsps.

Thanks for the invite, but got the ol' family Christmas party on Sunday. Sounds like you were poundin' the heck out of them. I heard earlier in the season that Lovelock was hot, but that it was getting a lot of preasure. Havent been up there yet. Good luck, and report back. Take some pics.

Might be opening a can of worms, but I would stop all "sit" work until after your dog is "whoa" broke. You will get many different opinions here. At 7 weeks old, just get your pup used to its name. Be his buddy. Do everything together. Socialization is key...take your pup everywhere and introduce it...

You may think of shooting a bird for him and let him retrieve it. He might not be putting the whole picture together yet. This might help him get his prey drive up again after the flush. Just a suggestion.
