Re: Roading dogs - Time or distance
Great topic. This has been something i have been tinkering w/ for a couple months now, but like Ray suggested w/ roading the dogs by having them pull at a walking pace, is the way i started getting them in working condition. from then on we have been out w/ the quad. at first it was a 10 min pull, t...

Re: truck box organization
all these pics are a couple years old. unfortunately i dont have my dog rack put together this season yet, so i cant take any new pics. the first is a close up, of how i used 2x4's and hinges to keep the boxes from moving. and the second pic is another snap shot of us posing up a dog w/ some chukar,...

I built this a couple years ago and it works fairly well: http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r132/NVgsp/100_0037.jpg the plywood holds two dog boxes on top, and there is plenty o-room underneath. spent many a night in there. like i said, it works pretty good: the reason i'm not totally sold on it, i...

Doug the vest is perfect. It finally got some bird blood in it, after a year of being a virgin (not one friggin chukar last year!) A good friend of mine who is a guide at www.highlandhillsranch.com is using the same one and he puts over a thousand birds a season in a vest. generally they wear out af...

Montana 2008 pics
my uncle, father and myself all went up to Montana to hunt pheasant, sharpies and huns. We had never hunted birds outside of Nevada, Cali or Oregon, so visiting Montana was extremely special. I took well over 100 pics, but decided that the following were pretty cool. Hope you all enjoy. http://i143....

Re: Transporting my Pup.
When I was running two and three dogs at a time in NV, I had a standard crate bungee corded to the back. I could fit two Brits in the #300 and third on the roading bar. When we went ATV camping and I wanted to take a dog I dropped the size of the crate to #200 and she fit just fine.....31#'s of Bri...

Clint- Check out the Hickox vid agian. The collar placement is different for "here" and "whoa." Essentially, you would need two ecollars, until the dog is completely broke. Might be opening a can of worms, but I would stop all "sit" work until after your dog is "whoa" broke. You will get many different opinions here. At 7 weeks old, just get your pup used to its name. Be his buddy. Do everything together. Socialization is key...take your pup everywhere and introduce it...
