AZ Draht... you went through a lot of effort there... but I can speak to one of those locations... Grand Rapids, MN. I can promise you that Scott's TV show and writings pale in comparison (when it comes to introducing outsiders to specific locations) to the exposure from the Ruffed Grouse Society's...

Let's see what Scott has to say about sharing his hunting locations. “'If I told you, I’d have to kill you'is the line I usually recite when people ask where I fish and hunt when I’m not making TV shows. It is mostly up to you to make the investment in time, effort, fuel and boot leather to find a c...

I hunt opening weekend and then a couple of more times, I will make the 4 hour drive, hunt for 3 hours and then drive home. So maybe 6 days total. I have only been hunting mearns for ten years. But even I have seen a dramatic increase in hunters during that time. Until this year I have never actual...

Quill,
Keep in mind, you may be a special case. Your photos drive a lot of traffic to the other sight. Brad needs you there.

I do not hunt opening weekend for this reason and also because of the amount of juvenile birds that are taken. There is plenty of land out there it just seems that everyone tends to go to the places with easier access. I hunt opening weekend and then a couple of more times, I will make the 4 hour d...

Cut my mearns trip short because of the rediculous amount of hunters. Didn't establish camp the first day because my normal locations had multiple camps of 3-4 rvs or 5-6 trucks all around them. 2nd day moved way east out of the area that is greatly impacted by the Internet posts, magazine articles,...

However, it would be pretty difficult to get caught hunting in AZ. Especially if he has a lifetime license

The Evan Graham dvd that Gonehuntin" referenced is SmartWork not Smartfetch. Smartfetch is just the force fetch dvd not the training course for puppy on up. Smartwork System Basics would be most appropriate. Also, Copper State Hunting Retreiver Club is a good club. I would recommend looking at joini...

MLB centerfielders for the call names. The registered name for the draht follows the naming convension. The pointers registered name is "Put me in, Coach", a line from the song "Centerfield" by John Fogarty.

Why do you think you need the weights?????? And what are you reading off of My thinking was use weights to maximize the workout in a shorter period of time. Get the workout done before it heats up to much each morning. I don't have a atv or horse for him to pull against. I will be walking or biking.

Harness might be a little small for the dog. The chest strap should ride lower, in the middle of the chest I think. If you can lengthen the first strap behind the dog's neck, that should drop the chest strap. . . A shorter workout with even weight on both sides is what I would do, but you know your...

Question roading harness set-up
I am going to begin roading my dog with dragged weights. Because I had a gift certificate and they were free to me, I just bought the drags. My questions are: 1. Should I extend the cord so more of the weight is closer to the ground? 2. Does the harness look to small? That harness only came in one s...

No, you can not control anything other than the alpha collar. I understand it is a different way of transmitting than the older equipment. That is why you can't control the dc-xx collars either.

1. The 220 and the dc40 can take a while to find the satellites and to sync. Turn both on immediately after getting to your spot, get your other gear prepared, then put the collar on the dog and turn them loose. Also, make sure you are familiar with "stop tracking" and "start tracking" commands. 2. ...

My alpha has its good and bads. The bad are 1. - You have to calibrate the compass alot. Every 5-20 min. Shows your dog opposite of where he really is, and has you going in the opposite direction. Its easy to figure that it needs calibrated because the north arrow point doesnt move as you move it. ...

Funniest experience was having the unit tell me the dog was on point. I looked at the arrow/compass that tells you what direction and how far away the dog is.
