Telemetry hands down. Tracker specifically for what I enjoy doing with my dogs but lots of good, reliable options. Still seeing too many GPS failures too take seriously as true dog recovery device. Every single person i hunt/train with has problems with them and message boards littered with question...

I'll reiterate that my time afield with a young horseback dog, hunting or training, is to further develop a horseback dog. I'm not sure I've been to a trial that wasn't native birds only in the last 3 or 4 years. More afraid of going to a pen bird trial.

Thanks for the advice, medium looks a lot better. I shoot narrow and better yet for resolution of birds getting up IMO. Jump to about 7:00 mark to see resolution narrow FOV on birds getting up about 30yds from me...or waste 9" of your life and watch the whole thing...medium or wide FOV I don't thin...

I would pick up a used Tracker receiver on eBay or similar sale site. I know there are 2 or 3 Maximas listed right now. What frequency are your collars? Quite a few units around and still best way to go for dog recovery.

I love what Sony has built in the a6000 and a7/a7r and I know they take fantastic photographs. But until they produce some fast zoom lenses I'm going to have to stay with my Olympus set up. Sony Zeiss glass is some of the best on the market. They make some pretty nice E-mount lenses for those camer...
