Pardon me. With over forty years experience with the breed, and over twenty years as a guide, outfitter, and breeder I thought I might actually be able to help guide the guy to the most likely type of lines to help in his search. What do you consider "larger bodied" and "slower paced"? I don't know why one poster stated that a NAVHDA dog would be slower paced. Is this a requirement for NAVHDA? This poses the old suppositions that field trial dogs/lines are no good for foot hunting and NAVHDA dogs/lines only include dogs tha...

You've got to be kidding! For that kind of money I hope you have a clearly written training plan and guarantees. As for how much work the dog should get what did the trainer tell you he/she'd be getting? Such things should be discussed well before the dog leaves home.$700/month

Slower paced and larger body type would have you needing to look more toward NAVHDA lines of GSP's or even pointing labs. Neither the slow pace nor larger body are particularly beneficial to upland work except in cold wet climates.

Dogs aren't furniture, they require time and attention. They also require some consideration. Loud all night parties with tons of people coming and going won't do your dog any good. Here is the dog in question, does he look abused? If he was thrown in a tumbler full of antlers and deer hide then tumbled like a load of cement by a "dog trainer" then yes he looks like an abused dog. Food and water are critical when you are hatching eggs. If the parents are hungry/thirsty they won't be taking care of the young. When it's cold the babies don't last very long without the parents body heat to sustain them.

This is incorrect. The coated aspirin products like Ascripton are coated with something very similar to Maalox. This eliminates the problem with intestinal bleeds and yes the aspirin is absorbed and utilized.Do not use coated aspiron as it is not absorbed. Buffered baby aspirin is better.
