I have talked with some trainers that will not use the lyme shot because after taking it you can not use a lyme test to see if the dog has it, as they will alway test positive. I do use the shot, so I am not sure. I would comment that, same with the flu shot idea, some protection is better then noth...

What I have isn't made any longer but what I use is the Innotech CS-1600 remote and the track n train colars. This give me tone control from the remote, IE I can set the locator to "Point Only" "Grouse(5 second delay beep)" or "Normal(10 second delay beep). I can set any of this remotely on the fly ...

4 paws, I currently have a pup that had a simular aliment. I will try and explain what happened and what we did for it. When my pup was about 6 months old I was taking it to the kennel where I train and he had gotten up into the truck no problem and was running around the yard fine. When I took him ...

I will agree with what both pear and Ez had to say, to an extent. I will add though that the idea that dogs learn from other dogs mentality seems to be alot more prevelant in pack dogs, IE hounds and such. I have yet to see it in pointers where running a dog that is not doing what it is supposed to,...

Phil, This fall we encountered 2 rattlers in western ND. The first one was just a young one that had yet to grow a rattle. The second one was much more interesting. As my dog went in on an odd point the crept in a bit, as i was about to yell, the dog jumped about 4 feet in the air. I yelled and the ...

I really appreciate the offer Phil, but my father is joining me and the idea of 12 hours to Nashville, and the another 11 hours to Perry would just be to much driving for us. Hunting Areas
Hi All, I have to drive to Tennessee to make a pick up. I am thinking about hunting while I am down there or at the very least hunting on the way back. My question is has anyone hunted Tennessee, Kentucky or Missouri? Being from Wisconsin my normal areas to hunt are North and South Dakota, Iowa and ...

IMHO there is no harder bird to hunt then Grouse.... Is it safe to say you are in WI, MN or MI? Grouse get even tuffer in lean years. The nice part is if you can find a mix the grouse will flush easy, the doodle will sit ( somtimes) making you dogs point soon and stop pushing, no this of course is a...

I have seen this happen if the bird gets wet, and/or if a dog had mouthed the bird. Example, Dog caught a bird at a Hunt test the owner took it from the dog and tossed it back into the tall grass. The judge was mildly upset. The dog that found the bird next run flagged on it but not on its second bi...

Wisconsin Grouse - First weekend Out
Hi All, Was up north this weekend, Townsend/Wabeno, Wi area (Forest county for those not famular). I had what I would consider a decent day Saturday, not productive in the sense of bagged birds but decent in sited birds. (any1 that hunts ruffed should understand this). My question is A) does this bo...

I must admit our results we less then stellar but but better then what we found in SD. Any suggestions on better are...
