Re: Training pigeons to home............
I have some pigeons that will stay out overnight roosted on my kid's swingset or on the roof of my house and others that will home right back when flown. They are usually always on the coop in the morning and back inside it by the time I get home from work. As long as you don't have many hawks or pr...

Re: side by side...what brand/model do you shoot?
I have been shooting this 20 ga. since I was a kid, my dad bought it from my 1st grade teacher some 20 plus yrs. ago. This is a great gun but I don't know much about it, I was hoping someone on here may know some info. on it. It has Winston and Churchill by Kassnar stamped on the barrels. This gun s...

Re: Newborns and dogs. Advice needed
I have a question kind of along the same lines. I have a 4 month old pup at home as well two sons, 1 and 4. The dog is not aggressive toward the kids but is young, excited, and still kind of clumbsy so accidents do happen. The dog and the boys all have "a lot of energy" to put it nicely. I feel like...

Re: Home-made Dog Trailer
I have seen quite a few homemade trailers where they used louvered register covers (from a home improvement store) as vents. Might be a cheaper way to go.

It seems that the good weather is here . When and where gentlemen? It would be nice if we could all get together for some training. I know it would be great for my pup. Let me know what works for everyone.

Re: GSPC of Illinois Field Trial April 17 - 19
I am new to this and have a few questions so excuse my ignorance.
What age is the puppy class for?
Is this something could just bring my pup to and watch?
I would love to come and check it out and get my pup the experience.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Pigeon Coop Floor
Could you show some pics of the inside of the coop, I am just finishing up my coop and it looks quite a bit like yours, I also am using the tray for a floor, I'm not sure how I want to do my perches so some pics would be appreciated.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: serious ear wax
I just had my pup to the vet for his first check up and found out he had an ear infection, the infected ear has noticably more dark ear wax than the other ear, vet perscribed tri-otic, definitely not cheap. Symptoms sound the same as what you're describing. Hopefully that''s all it is.

My new hunting buddy
Here are just a couple pics of my 10 week old pup, Duke. So far he has been a very fast learner. I look forward to some warmer weather so I can get him out more and I'm sure I will have plenty of questions to ask all of you. But for now I'm just working on getting some meat on his bones and teaching...

Re: pictures and avatar
Is photobucket or flicker the only way to post pics to avatars? I just got my pup today and would love to have a pic of him as my avatar and am trying to pull it from my pictures on my computer but they are apparently way too bug to have as my avatar. How do I get them small enough?

Yeah that's really too bad that you HAVE to live in beautiful Colorado . My wife would gladly trade places with you, she loves it there.

Pheasantfest is the National Pheasants Forever convention/expo. http://www.pheasantfest.org There will be a ton of exhibitors there and seminars of all kinds put on by some of the pros. Being new to dog training I will definitely be there getting all the advise I can take in and hopefully some deals...

Re: Must have DVD's and/or Books?
Good point, just in my research online I have read quite a bit of stuff that contradicts something else that I have read. I guess a better question would be what are some methods that everyone uses or have found work well?

Must have DVD's and/or Books?
I will be getting a 10 wk old GSP this week, this will be my first hunting dog and I will be training him myself. What DVDs or books are a must have for a first timer. I have been reading all I can find on the internet but everyone seems to say that you can never have too many resources. What do you...

Re: anyone in il wanna get together?
I am getting a 10 wk old gsp. pup on Feb. 6. If you guys wouldn't mind a puppy there I would love to get involved. I know a place that we could possible use near Belvidere. This is my first bird dog so I could use the advise. I live in South Beloit but can travel also. Do you guys use pigeons/quail?...
