I was petting my 4 year old brittany and she yelped. My wife found that her ear has a spot that is swollen spot which is hard and ear feels warm. Anyone ever come across this? For the last three weeks of hunting I have been watching sores appear on my three year old brittany. they are showing up in her front leg pits and inside the rear legs and stomach. I use shot size 7 for quail and chuckers and haven't found a charge bar that small for steel. Can only find up to 6. Am I just making a newbie mistake and not understanding what I'm looking at? I prefer using 7.5 but don't see steel shot that small or bar.

My step father just gave me a sizemaster reader. I was wondering if any of you could tell me where I can find steel shot? where I live and hunt we can't use lead. Also is their a good book out there on reloading since I'm new at this. Any information or help would be great.

Took the urine sample in and got the results. She has a UTI. We have to give her a pill twice a day for 12 days. Luckily she hasn't wet her mat in a couple days. Thanks everyone and very interesting conversation that came from it.

Thanks for info. I have been working hard with my britt since she doesn't seem to want obey my commands unless she has her training collar on. Funny thing is I only need to use the tone button to get her to obey. So we kind of took a step back to the basics again

I have a two year old brittany that I have been working with on retrieving. Now I have been told that you can teach dogs to retrieve when its not really in their breed. I have also been told that brittany don't do retrieves. But I have seen them do it. My question is what is the best way to do this....

Hunting gloves
I'm tired of either freezing my fingers off or having wet gloves. Does any one know of a good pair of hunting gloves? If insulated that's fine as long as not to thick. Just looking for something that is light weight and weather proof. But still keep the feel of my shot gun for shooting and loading.

I remeasured my brittany Kiah again with the help of my wife and she is 19 3/4" to the top of her shoulder blade. She weighs about 32lbs. Ruffshooter that is a really nice looking britt.

We went by our vets suggestion on when to have her spayed. He also hunts he has a really nice looking french brittany. I'll keep this info in mind for my next dog.

Not to get off track from my main question too much, but how does spaying them to early cause them to grow taller? Ok then so at what age should you have your dog spayed? Kiah was spayed around 5 or 6 months. Was that too early?
