Re: Russian Baikal O/U's

I bought a IZH 43 about five years ago...a 28 gauge sxs. Thinned down the wrist...made the pistol grip into a straight grip...sanded it all, and applied Watco's Danish finnish oil...ended up with this. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y192/ccavacini/Hunting/Picture135-1.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com...

The best pheasant hunting is in our Western counties--Benton, Newton, Warren. Also, probably the hardest to find land to hunt. It's farmed from road to road, but where there is cover, there are birds. You can find quail in the Southwest counties--Knox, Daviess,Sullivan and also some Southeast counti...

I have a Baikal IZH 43 (Remington Spartan)--SxS in 28 gauge. Fun litle gun. Use it on wild quail and pen raised pheasant. Fixed chokes Im/Mod. Got for under 300 a couple of years ago.

A lot of good thoughts on these posts....I'm partial to Brittanys (have two 9 and 2). Do love the style of the Setters.

Both offer a lot of dog/owner bonding (picking out burrs). :D
