To answer your original question, even though the color is as orange as orange can be, officially both those pups would be called lemon..........officially. On a side note, those look like pointer pups if I ever saw one.

If you need brain surgery you don't go to a General Practicioner.......... I used to encounter porcis all the time until I hunted over Pointers, Britts and Setters. Only seen 1 in the last 2 years (over a shorthair) used to be 1 a week!!!!

The little white arm that pull the spring. Loosen the screw that connects it to the acuater. It tightens itself over time, just loosen it about half a turn or more. It gets to tight and compresses that arm into the housing. Let us know if that works.

If the dog has never moved or lost intensity, etc. Then I as a judge won't downgrade the dog because it has an idiot as a handler. A good pheasant dog is going to keep contact with a running bird. Rather it be going around and pinning it from the other direction or work it until it runs out of cover and the bird stops, then so will that dog. Now take that same dog up Chukar hunting. He goes 500yds straight up hill and locks up....

IMO, breeding dogs is single handily the most difficult animal for a "breeder" to improve upon, let alone an amateur breeder or begineer breeder, or backyard breeder or anything else you want to call them. Let me give an example, As a young child, and I'm talking 6 or 7 years young until adult hood ...

2. If I wasn't to stubborn to own a Britt, Chukar12 and I would get along fantastic!!!
3. That repetition works for training bird dogs, but not BillThomas's

Your pup is doing a better job of teaching you. If he scratches and you open the door, then he's going to scratch. He gets the result he's looking for. The " EXTREME" headcrank was and is a fad. It was the thing to have for a few years. They even had a invitational trial for only the offspring of Honky Tonk dogs. In my opinion Fibber is an Elhew dog, no doubt. A son of Snakefoot out of Deep Creek Kate(Dunn's Fearless Bud x Elhew Molly) Bob was the breeder of the dog, that makes him 100%. Bob was Elhew, so if he stuck the prefix on the dog it is an Elhew dog. Same goes with Strike. And same goes for Bama, Ji...
