I would stop letting him catch it and dont give him treats. by doing that you are rewarding him for something you don't want .

Re: Akc Hunting tests
Hunt test might have more meaning if the AKC set higher standards for the judges instead of have judges that will pass every dog. There are a lot of judges that don't seem to know what the standards are.

i wish mine were old enough to run! Why sit here and and complain the price? If you don't like it don't go. If you want a discussion about prices create a new topic. Don't post it to an individual trial's post. It's not fair to them trying to put on a trail. At least their having one for you all to ...

with crop and land prices today it's almost impossible. Only way would be to make the wildlife as valuable to the farmers as their crops. like in Africa, which will never happen with a bird. It's going to be a losing battle for the birds

Re: IOWA BILL 564--Shorten Season & Lower Limit
it won't matter what the limits and seasons are if there are no birds to go after.
It easier and faster for them to change seasons and limits than it is to address the real problem of habitat and the conflict it has with farming.

Dog Box Question
I'm looking to build a 3 dog box but for the space I have available each compartment would only be 15" wide. Is 15" wide enough for a GSP to turn around in?
Any thoughts would be great.

Maybe if all the people who sit around and complain would get off their butts and do something about it we could improve the population instead of just waiting for others to fix it for them.

The judges are Ned Myers and Mike Majeski. It is an hour. They run around the lake. It should be a nice trial. I heard that the 40 dog limit had been filled several weeks ago. I like Jon and Cindy Hann's "The Perfect Start" and "The Perfect Finish" DVD's. They use a common sense approach - letting the dog learn at his own pace and getting them into plenty of birds. I'm with Cajun above. Lots of wild bird contacts and letting the pup explore the environment. Building a co...
