Product Reviews
Hi All, I am working on a project and I hope I can get some real world input. I am sure everyone reads hunting/fishing related magazines where they show product reviews (for example Editor's Pick or Best Buy) and field tests (5 star rating). How much do those reviews/field test influence your buying...

Sorry guys the pictures do not do any justice! You can see every vertebrae in her back, hip bones, shoulders, and she has no muscle mass. I also went back yesterday and picked up the male because my dad is keeping him. He was in much better shape body wise. He is the one that could use another 5lb. ...

Under weight dog
I need some help. I just rescued an extremely underweight dog. She is two years old out of some pretty good lines but she only weights around 30 pounds. I would guess that she should be around 55 - 60 lb. right now. I put a collar on her that my other dog grew out of around 6 months. You can see all...

You could always check into a NAVHDA chapter and attend their training days. Here are the chapters in your area.

I do it all on my own (with the help of my NAVHDA chapter) and it was the greatest feeling in the world when I heard the word "Pass" at the Invitational. I will listen to anyone who offers advise and then mold it to fit me and the dog. I will always train and handle my own dogs because it is fun for...

Re: Getting GSP to sit still and retrieve only when released
This is what I would try if it was my dog. Take out a bucket or stool for my self to sit on. Have the dog sit next to you while on a check cord or leash then throw the bumper. Sit there and don't say anything to the dog just make sure the dog stays with you. It might take a long while but give the d...

Re: PA law dealing with training with pigeons
The way it is written it won't have anything to do with dog training. It specifically states any public event that uses live birds for targets. Kind of hard to argue with that even though we don't need to protect pigeons. Reminds me of the tower shoots for pheasants that clubs hold around here. Jus...

Steady at the blind Put the dog on whoa, sit, or down. Walk out of sight from the dog and fire one blank wait 10 seconds then fire the second plank shot. Walk back to the dog. If you look on the website for NAVHDA you can see with your own two eyes where they are judged against a standard. If you look on the AKC you can see where field trials are judged based upon performance 1-4 place. If you do not have the best dog that day you will not win a field trial even if your ...

Put her in and wait for her to get quite then pull her out and let her run around. When it is time for the crate back in the car. If you are g...
