It would be an AKC horseback trial TC. To run your HTA pup, you would need to cross register it with the AKC, assuming your pup is FDSB registered

I think either kennel should be able to provide you with a nice grouse dog. I have seen a few from Nitro up here in the PNW. They run NSTRA trials and do pretty well. Superior is close enough I would suspect you can go take a look at some pups first hand.

A weim lady I know swears by Cheeto's ..throw them in the shallow and as ol' blitz starts eatin um, just toss them further and further out until he has to swim to get them. Go to this site and you can ask her yourself

I recall these were in existance say back in the mid 90's but can't recall who made them...think Mo might be right. As far as what do do when the dog is on point you went in and manually flushed it I believe. just like wild birds):>)

Nice pup, I have a couple Lancelot/fibber grandpups and they will all swim too...though I must admit it's the birds they are crazy about, not really the water. Come/Here...NO....These are very important commands for an english pointer pup to learn early...They tend to be more independant than the v-dogs and if you don't get these commands down pat, it can make things more difficult later on

Pointer in general are very early maturing, so this doesn't sound unreasonable to me. I sold a pup to a fellow and they were shooting birds over it at 4 months old, and it was broke to flush at that age...Each dog is different but pointers (English pointers) in general usually are very early develop...

Not chickens but Guinnea fowl great for making sure a dog has whoa down and they will put pressure on the dog all the noise and what not and they run all over, never had a problem that was created by doing this. I believe Henry P Davis suggested Guinee fowl for training birds too in a Very old book...

I have seen good ones in all those venues and from parents that ran in all those venues....I would add NBHA and USCOMPLETE to this list thoug..It's the Dog not the venue that matters really. Good ones seem to be able to ecel whereever you run them.
