My Dougie will mark birds that way, only had 1 judge tell me to pick him up.Most hunting judges will let them mark as long as they don't move towards bird. I'm not going to try to make him stop.

My Dougie is headed back there in a few weeks to get ready for the trial season.i'm just 2hr and 42 minutes from her so i may have to go see Jersey once she gets there.Dang,heck fire and somb#!%& all translate pretty easy once you get the hang of it. She will be in good hands.

I use a 28 SKB O/U when i shoot for hunt test and training . 20 SKB o/u on pheasants. My 20 is 18 years and no problems at all .

deseeker, you are probably right. Where i hunt in Neb we have lost all but 1/4 section of crp back to crops.I hunt about a 15 sq. mile area and every year we loose more crp. No, my dogs see them daily as they bed within 25 feet of my runs.My dogs walk to feed horses with me every day and deer are always in the pasture and they just ignore them now

One weekend i gunned and put birds out for a hunt test. I think i learned more on that weekend ( good and bad). Getting to watch different people and dogs and how they handled many situations. If you get the chance to gun, do it. Tony

Chaingang, i agree. I always thought that Dougie had a head like Rip also the way he stands his birds. Never thought of Hustler , but Rip is his son.Hadn't seen many pics of him.I had the pleasure to gun for Brenda and Rip for a Nstra trial.What a dog he was.

I use mine as a locator more than anything, once i get their direction i flick it back off. Never seem to effect quail or pheasant ,Seen more grouse blow out than anything.Woodcock never

first year trialing

Just proud of my dog Dougie after his first trial year.He ran in 12 broke stakes and placed in 9 of those .He was clean in 11 of the 12 roundsand was placed or called back in all 11.He also placed in 2 horseback trials with a 3rd in OLGD and a 3rd in ALGD.I think i'm hooked now.Big thanks to Brenda ...

We took first in the ALGD,first in AGD and a second in the OLGD.This was his first trial of the year and had 3 clean rounds.This was the good.
