I've used the Skid Plate before with my EP, but haven't in a couple of years. It did a pretty good job protecting her chest and most of her bellly area, but she was kind of in-between sizes at the time. Won't hurt to try one.

A good one is the Joan Bailey book, How to Help Gun Dogs Train Themselves. It's a start from puppyhood book that will get you headed in the right direction. Highly recommended!

The most best thing to do tho, is find a mentor to help you.

I got the dogs each a coat that is designed like a horse blanket. It seems to keep them warm, and it's easy to put on and take off. And, it doesn't look foo-fooish :lol: .
