Yeah I've tried that but I think it actually makes it worse.
I think it makes her feel trapped or something.
I found the other thread on this topic and will use some of the suggestions from that thread.
Thanks all for your help.

Thanks folks. I did do a search on here but must have missed the post referenced. I'll take another look.
I did read some of the deconditioning info. that's available but wasn't too convinced that it would work.

My 3 year old female GSP is becoming more and more aggressive to other dogs. So far absolutely no aggression to people. She used to be just intolerant of smaller dogs jumping up on her or around her but it is now progressing to all dogs. I hate to muzzle her (not when hunting) when she is going to b...

Tommyboy, That is exactly what I did. I also used the continuous stim. after that to get the message through when she continued....

Well into the terrible twos with my GSP. One day a genius, the next, not so much. Today, not so much. I saw the previous thread about ranging, but this went beyond that. Basically just running today. Out for an afternoon romp it would seem. Last week a pro. My older GSP never went through this that ...

I was thinking if things are working well, why mess with success?
I just don't want to have to fix a problem later that could have been prevented now.

How do you decide to start to run the new dog with the old pro? A little bit ago I got a 14 month old who is coming along nicely. Still has some rough edges (to be expected) but is progressing. The pup is a speed freak while the older dog is more methodical if that helps. New dog comes when called, ...

My GSP is finally healed from her latest injury. A sliced pad. We have a shoot to retrieve this weekend and I'd like to give her a little protection on her foot. I did a search and couldn't find anything I thought would work.

Yesterday morning (the day after the cut) her pad looked worse. A quick trip to the vet and $450 later she has two internal and four external stitches. Sheesh, she can't catch a break this season. Down for 10-14 days.

Max, Yeah, was real careful about keeping the wrap loose. It's mainly there to keep her from spotting the carpet. The cut is on the outside of her front paw. Doug, That's pretty much how I have handled it in the past. It didn't seem like an intentional flush. That's why I was hesitant to nick her. I didn't want anything negative associated with a bird. Results of surgery.
Two sticks removed from paw. One fragment is 1.5 inches long. The other is 1" long. Hopefully back to 'normal' in a week to 10 days.

The plot thickens. Her toe started to swell this afternoon so she goes under the knife tomorrow morning because it looks like something is definitely in there.
Her ankle was less swollen so the antibiotics seem to be helping overall but the localized swelling in her toe points to a foreign object.

Mtdogs,
Try 'Flys Off" by Farnum Pet Products. When I was in Virginia it was the only thing that kept me from having to lock my gsp in the house for about a month every summer.
It's a chrysanthemum derivative. Works great with the mosquitoes here in IL also.
