2/4 JH legs complete
I participated in my first AKC event over the weekend. I ran Dexter in the JH test on both days and received passing scores for both days. I think I'm hooked now and look forward to competing again for the final 2 legs. I didn't think I would enjoy the trials but I was wrong, what a blast.

I use this method, just have to wash the saliva off your thumb.phermes1 wrote:I open their mouth, shove the pill in way in the back, then hold their mouth closed with their nose pointing up until they swallow.

The spots seemed to respond some to the steroid but didn't go away completely. Once the steroids ran out, the bumps seemed to flair up bigger. He acts normal as far as energy level goes but doesn't like it when I try to touch or clean the spots. I've had a cone on his head for the last 3 weeks to pr...

I switched his food from Blue Buffalo to Diamond Naturals Extreme Athlete about 3-4 months ago. Could food allergies take that long to show up? I'll switch him over to tonight any suggestions? Should I cook whole chicken and rice? or just switch to another dog food?

My GSP has come down with some mysterious looking bumps on his ear, muzzle, legs and feet. He's been to the vet on 3 separate occasions the past 3 weeks. I haven't taken him to his normal vet yet only because this started right before I had an appointment with a new vet to get Lymes vaccination done...

Do you eventually switch to dead Quail/game on the force fetch? My boy will fetch balls and kongs to hand but as soon as I bring out a dead bird he wont touch it.

I left dexter at home this weekend for a guys camping trip. I got a call from my wife halfway to the site saying dexter got mad and carried some of my dirty clothes outside. I think that is his way of throwing a fit. He also pulled the covers off the bed and knocked over the bathroom trash can.

I haven't chipped my dog yet but am considering it. The only problem is the newer chips (2003-up) are not compatible with the old scanners. It's better to be safe then sorry but this is an issue that should be addressed. You pay to have your dog chipped so he might get detected at the pound. I keep ...

Looking for birds in Maine
I'm traveling to Maine this weekend to visit my parents. I'm taking my dog in hopes to find some wild Grouse on their property. I'm also looking for some farm raised birds in S. Maine near Portland as a backup. Does anyone know of a bird farm up there?
Thanks,
Chris

Dexter came out with a Prize III, my water work cost him. He was hesitant to get in the water at first but got in twice for them. I thought he would have got a 3 since no dead bird was used. They gave him a 2 for water but 4's for everything else. He did very well in the field and tracking.

IF you're strong enough you can do this while pulling both apart at the same time. If no collar is present you can grab the back of their neck and...

I took my 5 month old GSP out this weekend to introduce him to some live birds. He did great, pointed some birds I didn't know where there. Best of all I got to use the 12 gauge and he didn't flinch a muscle. I didn't do a whole lot of gun prep either. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a235/cszymans...
