Re: Opinions on saddle

I wouldn't buy a knock-off trooper from eBay...EVER. I have heard horror stories about them...broken trees, metal pommel/cantle breaking...a real nightmare. If its a Trooper you want, I would stick with the trustworthy brands...Tarpin Hill/Heskett, Tucker or Haggis. I've never ridden an M&W, but th...

Futurity Win!!

The 2010 Midwest Vizsla Field Futurity was held at the Des Plaines field trial grounds south of Joliet, IL on March 5th 2010. Weather couldn’t have been nicer for running dogs and those of us in attendance watching. Ruth and I had three dogs nominated to run out of our girl Roxie. All three dogs ran...

Anyone know of someone online I can order a Leather Holster from for a Garmin Astro? Need something that's going to take the abuse of being on a horse while field trialing.

Will this pigeon recall door work for Quail? Are the funnels the best way to go for Quail? I'm getting ready to build a johnny house and am open to suggestions or someones plans. it potentially could be used for a quail recall pen. However with the quail recalls they will be ground height so anythi...

Wow, you don't screw around! Nope!! With having lost close to 150+ pigeons over the last year to raccoon attacks it was time to make some changes. It never failed that just as the new group of 30 or so birds were homing back good something would happen. Recall door left open, bottom lock on the mai...

New Pigeon Loft

So here's the details on the new loft 16' long x 8' wide x 10' high(8' interior and 2' raised off the groud). Due to the issues with both raccoons and rats we elected to go with a solid floor. Has Electric and interior lighting. Lights are 75watt compact florescent that only use 14watts a piece and ...

Re: Is it a homer? Pigeon question

Same as Ted...barn pigeons have always homed for me...now if we could keep the darn raccoons out of the pigeon loft I'd be much happier. Lost 50+ two nights ago to a raccoon. These were just starting to really home back well, back in March we lost the whole loft to another raccoon.

Re: finally got the new pup

I think you'll find as she gets older that will change. New home, new things, plus being at that age where they are going through a fear period...that and temps in the teens makes a 10-12 week old pup not want to do much but sleep. Give her a couple of weeks and you'll be asking how you turn the whe...

I know this sounds weird, but what if everyone that handled, scouted, planted birds or gunned was required to have a hunting license.
