I cant seem to find any breedings out there

Your own statement says a lot to me...might be a reason why there are not a lot of breedings out there!

Re: What gun dog breed do you currently own and why?
The DD is for me. I've had shorthairs and there are just too many of them now. Too many folks trying to be breeders and no real check and balance on the gene pool. Like the Vizsla, although not as tough as I want. Got my first DD and knew I had found the breed for me.

You might want to contact Jeff Wallace in Knoxville IA. I know he either bought dogs directly out of Mac the Knife or bred to him and raised some dogs out of him. www.cajunkennels.com will give you his phone/email.

I too tried the Shredded. My Draht had loose stools (bad) and lost weight. Her coat did not look good at all either. I am back with Eukanuba and getting the dog back where she needs to be. I've lost some confidence with Purina.

I've got a couple. Very easy to assemble. I added a 3/4 inch piece of plywood to the inside floor...makes it warmer than metal. I also add wood chips for bedding. I am in ND, so the cold is a factor and these houses do well. The only negative is that snow does get in around the sides and bottom if t...

Re: Benelli's UltraLight in 20guage.
Bought the 20 GA Ultra Light. Great gun to carry. I'm six foot, 190lbs and couldn't hit crap with it. Went back to my Red Label and although it's heavier, I am putting more birds in the bag.
The Ultra Light is in the gun safe. I'll get my wife to try it at the skeet range this summer.

There is a book by Jim Marti called "The Burnt Creek Method of Dog Training". In that book, chapter III teaches "heel" in two parts; 1: "Attention" and 2: "Walk at Side". It is the best/easiest method I've seen and have used it on many dogs. You can do a "google" search and come up with how to order...

Re: What choke for pen raised birds
Living where I do, I don't have to hunt many pen raised birds. When we do (once or twice a year), I use an old O/U that is skeet over skeet with #9's. Perfect gun/shot for that kind of bird.

I'd say you can get a pic of most every dog in the pedigree from the breeder. He's got quite a database of pics on his web page.

Clown is a leading sire folks. But, was bred to around a zillion times. Any dog producing thousands of pups is going to produce some FCs and NFCs if pups are put in the right hands.
