We're in the same boat you are and hubby does alot of conditioning on the bike. He also rigged up a chain weight system for them to pull and we walk with them in that. Alot of trainers will work with you and your dog in say 30 minute sessions give or take. We broke Flynn that way. We'd take him to Jesse once or twice a week and then work on yard work, etc. at home in the interim. The one thing to remember is they probably will not be available during trial season ...

The Brittany Hall of Fame and the Brittany Field Trial Hall of Fame are both under the umbrella of the American Brittany Club. Check out the club website if you are still not believing. The ABC is an AKC affiliated club. It is considered the parent club for our breed within the American Kennel Club....

If you haven't done so already go to the AKC website and to "rules and regulations". Download the Pointing Breed Hunt Test and Field Trial Procedures Manual. It's mostly hunt test related and will give you alot of good info. Kristi

BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO CAME TO WORK AND RUN DOGS THIS WEEKEND!!! We got alot done as far as fencing, liming seeded areas and of course- the always popular ROCK PICKING! LOL! Congrats Justin & Captain! Great way to get the summer started! Helen is a class act. She's shown dogs for me- finished Jet actually, given both hubby and I handling tips, etc. I totally trust her with my dogs which is the most important thing for me.

The best thing i've found so far is Crisco spray. Not PAM- that works "ok" but the Crisco works better! Took me 2 hours to clean that dog up after the first time he ran at Kildeer in the fall. I vowed never again to go through THAT! The Crisco has worked good. We do trim him up right before trial se...

We had one field Springer in our home for a few weeks and she was about as active as the Brits. Shedding seemed to be about the same also.
