Sounds like your boy has not yet made the association that when his bracemate is stopped and on point, that there will be bird work involved. You say he honors the dummy/silhouette and is good on his STF work all the time? He has associated the dummy and the STF with impending bird work. Switch thin...

Thanks for the tip. There are no other lesions to suspect ringworm but I will keep it in mind of the zinc supplement and probiotics don't improve the situation.

Went on the hunt for a Zinc supplement. Only able to find tablets in 50 mg size tonite. Pup weighs approx 15#s Am I correct in thinking he should be getting approx 1/2 a pill once a day if my calculations are correct?
Thanks Doc.

Thank you Doc E and Cajun Casey :)) Mal-absorption makes sense, given his size at birth and the fact that he continues to be smaller, to the point of being much thinner then I like to see a pup over all. He isn't rail thin, doesn't have rib/hips showing but he isn't by any means a fat puppy either, ...

They are coming off in a single layer on all 4 feet of this poor puppy (Brit). he is showing now adverse affects other then chewing his feet. I'm still puzzled with the stories about yotes attacking dogs as my experience has always been they live by being smart and sneeky and the last thing they will do is stand and fight. I have had too many encounters with the Western coyotes. One involved a training run with a Brit bitch in heat (everything turned out ok). OFA or Penn Hip, Cerf for PRA are the main tests. Your current formula should be fine. If you notice a weight loss increase the amount you feed him. You can up the extra energy level in the feed by tossing an egg in the feed on the days you hunt if you want.
