Subarus have a very unearned reputation IMO... Something like that I'd be looking at a Jeep or Toyota. Even a Nissan. Wrangler, grand Cherokee,Cherokee, 4runner, rav4, Tacoma, frontier... Anyone of those would be suitable to varying degrees. 1/2 ton if you have another use for it but I wouldn't buy ...
