Local Feed store.
If they have kids working there offer to pay them to catch a few.
Take them home clip their wings and train your dogs.
When the pigeons wings grow out and fly back to the Feed store go back and pay the kid to catch them again.
Worked for me.

Had a male yellow Lab one time CH, CG, WC. Had some "peeps" in the back yard. Came home from work and one was missing. I invited Gus the yellow Lab to join me in finding the missing "peep". We worked your way to the back fence were the grass was tall. With Gus at my side I knew we were close because...

Work/train every day 10 to 15 minutes. The most important comman is WHOA. Start using a whistle for whoa and recall. Much eaiser for an excited dog to hear a whistle than your voice. The whoa command should lock up your dog solid. (could save it's life) With time everything else will fall into place...

Best wishes, but busting birds is what one year old dogs do. The first time your pup comes sliding up to a stop and does the "hook point" I hope you are ready and do not miss! That will be a very happy day. Advise: Don't over correct and develop a neurotic dog. Take a deep breath and laugh. The thre...

All my dogs sleep in the house in their kennels. Any table, bench, tailgate will work. I started with a goat milking stand. Even a chest freezer will work. Don't make stuff difficult. Give a deposit for your choice. Visit once a week. If possible visit at feeding time. That will tell you a LOT! I run GSP's and mainly chase Chukar. We hunt at least 100 days a year. Never booted a dog. The biggest problem I see with boots on other dogs is fit and the ability to keep them on. You will need vet tape to keep from chaffing and duct tap to keep them on. You will also need a good sense of humor th...

Google: why dogs eat poop
AKC has a good read.
I can understand why female dogs do, but not males.
To stop it I use a training collar. HOWEVER it does not cure it. Sort of like counter surfing. The reward is worth the risk.
I worry more about porcupines.
