I like the ole' wing on a pole, but not alot ofit. I have noticed that too much of it (like as in training with it) can take away from style or interest in the long run. I also like to take things like a chew rope for dogs and throw it into the air like a downed bird and let the dog go and get it an...

Here is the other littermate when he was 3 mo. old. He looks more like that dog of yours now.

Now I am at that point with the pups where the command "here" and a sharp tap with the checkcord means something and the pups respond by coming to me. agreed. the woods and the grouse in them will teach your dog about 75% of what he will need to be a good grouse dog. My dogs and dogs in the past have learned their range by just being in the woods and hunting while trying to keep with me. If your dogs have what it will take, nature will ultimately ...

If your looking to just restore the quail population in an area then I would just release them. If you are looking to have birds to train with, I would go with the Johnny House. Reason being is predators will not have much availibility to your birds.

Not a huge fan of the show. Although I like the fact that a bird dog show is on TV, the dogs training is very minimal and very scattered. Dogs creeping, flash pointing, etc. I do watch the show because its one of the very few shows dedicated to bird dogs. Oh and the commentary... TERRIBLE!

Puppy crap is always a pain. It's pasty and is hard to spray out of the kennel. As they get older it will change. Hint: Keep a square head shovel handy and use it to lossen everything up, then take your hose and spray it all out.
