Re: Whats going on in Oregon Trials and Tests?
All I'm going to add to this conversation is this. Having spent a fair amount of time a the MN Capitol back maybe 10 years ago, what Sportsmen/Sportswomen need to realize is the incredibly LONG vision the anti's have. The typically sportsman frankly just wants to be left alone and do his/her thing.....

Just returned from the Plentywood/Scobey area. We hunted large Block Management areas on horseback, 3 hunters and normally 3 dogs (sometimes more) on the ground. If you think that " In the olden days", the dogs were all robotically the same within the breed. You couldn't be more wrong. People, even in "The Olden days" had differing preferences for what they liked/preferred in their chosen breed of dogs. Breeders placed different priorities on differing trait...

AKC mandates DNA at all the breeds' nationals, no? The parent clubs had a certain amount of time to implement it. I think the Irish Setters was the first, or one of the first, to require DNA at their Nat. Ch. I think the only AKC breed that scans the dog at the line (really when the 6 dogs are load...

I don’t want any dominance drama, with kids around the dogs need to be without issues. It makes no difference if you have two males, two females or one of each. They will still need to settle the dominance issue. Whether that is a quick, smooth and permanent settlement or comes with drama is not so...

You are correct about Thunder Dan. ;) You could run that dog up against any breed - horseback. Then his owner would take him woodcock hunting locally. He didn't have a bad bone in him. It's a numbers game. Many of those 20k dogs are dogs that might run 20 stakes a year, I am a firm believer that if you have a broke dog and run it enough times FC or AFC is more a "when than If". I won't belittle you for what you prefer, you agree not to belittle me for the type of dog I prefer.
