Re: are Field Trialers afraid of wild birds?
I have always hunted my Field Trial Dogs. I find that it makes them a better bird dog. My Trey (GSP) dog who is a two time GSPCA NFC and 2 time NFC runner up plus NGSPA NC runner up. Sorry for the bragging, I am just trying to show you, how it has made him a better Field trial dog. I hunt him all th...

NGSPA Great Plains Championship
The Great Plains Championship is cancelled due a serious illness with my wife. She has to go in for heart surgery the day before it starts and I cannot run the Great Plains because of that. Please get the word out. I just cannot be in two places at once. I hope everyone understands. Brooks Carmichael

I watch this dog run and she is the real deal. With very little handling she covered the course like none other. She was the dog to beat from the start. Allie set the standard for the whole stake. It was really beautiful to watch. Congratulations to Jerry Alden, you should be very proud of her. Cong...

Re: What is Derby Broke ?
Other than disqualifying a dog for registration or age reasons I do not think AKC has ever changed a judge's decision. So we can agree it is left to the judges, as it should be. So rather than argue, you would have us let untruths stand? And Brooks you were a little condescending suggesting I was i...

Brooks, I ran in my first American Field trial in 1963, been judging since 1969. The AFTCA Guidelines do not apply to Open stakes. Re: What is Derby Broke ?
I have been trialing now for over 40 years. In AKC there are only a few set rules. Most are guidelines. For example of which there is not rule or guidelilne but most judges will throw the dog if it has two un-productive's. There is not even a guide line for this, it just is. In almost every case the...

I understand 67 were drawn. If they run 6 braces a day. It will take them 5 1/2 days to run. If they have time to run 7 braces a day, that will still take 5 days. Unbelievable. They still have the ASD and OAA to draw. And then there is the Derby. This Championship could take two weeks to run.

When you have three clubs come together to put on trial. That is truly cooperation. It should be a fantastic trial. Since it just before the GSPCA nationals at Eureka it should be well attended.

First of all I would look at the FT Champions out there. I would not worry about the AA dogs hunted on horseback.
