You can judge only what you see. It is quite obvious what happened, dog B stole point but you did not see him do it so forget it and move on. But, again you can only judge what you see. Dog B is pointing and Dog A is backing. I have observed this happening more then once, it is all part of Field tri...

The winners all need to be congratulated. It was very hot out. With the temps reaching into the 90's each day. Dogs had to be constantly watered down. I watched many of these dogs and they were truly amazing to see them run and find birds under these conditions. There were very few dogs that did not...

We have all been there. What happened to you was a travesty and unfortunately it happens to often. I never questioned a judge but couple of time's I should have. NGSPA Prairie Chicken Championship
The chicken championship starts today with 52 entries. Only 4 braces will be run today because of the heat. Tomorrow will go with 3 and 3. Should be done by Friday. One day of OAA and then on Sunday the ASD should start. Everything could change because of weather. Good luck to all.

It is like night and day. Shooting on course is as close as you can get to hunting wild birds. But, still not the same. Call back for a retrieve is where you have dozens of people watching and all kinds of talking, yelling and you name going on. The birds are rocked so heavy, it is hard to get the b...

It was very hot, in the 90's most days and most dogs made the hour. We had some great races and I and others were impressed with their bird finding ability. Plenty of birds. I seem to remember one dog had three finds and one stop to flush. You could not ask for more. It looks like it is going to be ...

Congrats on win. How many were drawn in each? OAA 12 drawn, 10 ran ASD 24 OSD 30 Derby 5 Lot's of birds, very few dogs went birdless and for a wild bird trial that was great. Heat was the problem, temp were mostly in the 90 except one day in ASD and one in OSD and they were in the 80's. I am sure m...

Is the answer to question is probably was done. Could have it been done in all pointing breeds, most likely. The germans did it for years, but they put it in their pedigrees when done. The English pointers of years past were big blocky dogs as were other pointing breeds. Are the pointing breeds bett...

In AKC trials. It is up to the judges. I have seen 10 minutes in most cases but, this judge decided at 5 minutes. It is just what it is. My dog just ran out of course, was seen going away at the end of the course and that is when I lost him.

Here is my two cents. Habitat has a great deal to do with loss in bird numbers, spring rains right when the birds hatch has a tremendous effect on survival of chicks. This is in negative way. But, us not forget the house cat. It kills more birds then any natural predator out there. Yes, hawks and ow...
