Good luck with your hunts. A gun dog is not a gun dog until it knows what it is doing, and lots of hours in the field is the key to that. Past the puppy phase and obedience training, you can't train a bird dog in the back yard. By far the best teacher is a trained dog, so look around for other hunte...

Not a GSP, but I currently have a rescue springer that is the finest field bred springer I have ever met. I don't know what her lines are, but she is a champion from nose to toes.
