How about a labrador or golden retriever. Both great duck dogs and everyone we have had of either one has turned out to be a great pheasent/dove/grouse/quail dog.

It depends what your hunting. Labradors are probably the most versitile although GSPs can be just as good at just about everything. At the same time tho they are pretty hyper dogs and you need to be able to provide alot of exercise. If you want style points, i would vote for the setters. Lewellyns, ...

a hard top on a wrangler is better in the winter than the soft top but the soft is nice in the sumer because it can be droped easy and if it starts to rain its back up in couple mins. perdonaly i like my cherokee alot more for a daily driver and its more than capable off road. i prefere the cheroke...

The trainer had me do indirect pressure like you said exept on heel not sit and it didnt really help. Ill try the stake thing and see how it goes.

My dog groans!, she hardly ever barks or grawls but when ever you rub her belly or scratch her behind her ears she groans!
She also does this weird thing where when she wants a belly rub she plows into your shins and rolls on her neck then finally flops over into the belly up position.

I use drop it for a command only when the item is in the dogs mouth. I use leave it when she is about to pick something up that I dont want her to.
