Re: National Championships
Were my opinions meaningless you would feel no need to be defensive. As for the PGA, none of the majors are called a National Championship, let alone two of them. So there is no PGA National Champion, which is why there is the Fedex Cup. So I think they are trying to correct a defect. As for the sp...

Re: National Championships
No, it is not like the PGA, it is like a split, so you would have Professional Golf Association and say the GANA, Golfers of North America, each with their own majors and Fedex Cup. I know of no sport where the split was good. Look at CART and Indy Cars, it almost ruined both. Well the 4 majors in ...

Re: Woodcock!
Do they mainly stay in river bottom areas? Would creek areas with heavy or thin woods be better? Do they hang around flood plain of areas lakes? Even though most lakes around N. TX are 3-6' below average levels. You can't go wrong in the river bottoms. I don't know how much of the migration passes ...

Where is your response to the information provided by an actual musher? You have constantly pointed to sled dogs to build up your argument... Now all we get is crickets? I never let my dog retrieve birds (break or sent) that are killed dead, they are not going anywhere. What until you shoot a cripple then cut her loose she will learn that she is not suppose to go on every bird that is shot and she will become much more steady in addition she will swim right pass the...

With good fortune you are going to enjoy a dog for 15+ years, i have never understood the rush to push them as pups. I am not impressed with how young a dog might be when it earns an entry level prize. Dogs need to be pups without pressure. Are you familiar with the Navhda NA test? Yes, and your po...

I am making an assumption the dog is reacting this way on scent? What if you revert to stop to flush work upwind on birds the dog cannot smell? You eliminate one of the heightened senses and may be able to change the " habit?" Bingo, I train STF before working on pointing steadiness. Just easier on...

I think the more accurate question is with todays training methods (since we would train them differently) would the dogs then compete now.
I think no question they would do well.

I switched to a Sputnik trap (drop down) 4 years ago, the birds learn fast and have never had any raptor get in they can't figure it out. My side of coop are metal sheets (like for roofs) nothing can climb it.

My understanding is if you just feed a processed food like game bird feed or chicken scratch you don't need it as it's used to breakdown seeds in their gut. You also don't need it if they are free flown regularly and have access to a gravel driveway or something similar. I generally buy the stuff t...
