Re: Will booting my GSP cause him to overheat
First, to answer your original question. I do not believe booting your dog will cause him to over heat. I've run my dogs for many years with my bicycle on bike paths, streets and gravel roads. The only time it has affected the dog's feet was when running on concrete. That little bit of rougher surf...

Re: Will booting my GSP cause him to overheat
I wish I could help. Anytime I've run dogs on pavement, their pads got stronger and stronger BUT, I didn't run them as near much as you do. The other aspect is that they had intervals between roading on the road which allowed the digital pads to strengthen/recover. As for cordura boots, they are TH...

Re: Will booting my GSP cause him to overheat
There aren't a lot of choices where I live for my weekday running. My dog has been my running buddy since he turned 18 months. I'm not going to leave him behind.Garrison wrote:I think I would quit running the dog on the pavement.

Re: Will booting my GSP cause him to overheat
Has anyone ever tried cordura bog booties? Will they prevent stickers and thorn injury?

Will booting my GSP cause him to overheat
I have a three year old GSP that I run long distances with. We average 30- 40 miles any given week. The long distance on pavement has caused him to have thin pads. When I take him out hunting or training, he easily gets cuts and thorns. Ive tried commercial boots in the past, but he always loses the...

Safety car haress recommendations
Hi, I am looking for a safety car harass for my 16 month old GSP. He weighs 53 lbs and has a girth if 27" and he is very narrow. The EZdog drive and Sleepy pod haresses are too wide between the legs. The chais choice is too big around the neck, and he chewed through the Kurgo, which was also big aro...

Whoa training after learning sit...@$%!!!!!!
I’m sure most have done this once (hopefully not twice). As an 8 week old GSP, our Levi had learned “Sit” by word and also hand signal after a week of training. Well, he is now 4 months (17 weeks) it has been reinforced for two+ months and I’m now in the process of teaching Whoa. He also has learne...

Bumper hold issue
My pup did that, I was told to wrap wire around the ends so he will only grab in the middle. It worked.

Will my pigeons return
Hi, I've had non flyer pigeon ever since last fall. I ended up with a mate for him by accident after I brought home a leftover pigeon from training session. They hatched two babies, before the mother pigeon got killed when she flew into my neighbor's dog pen. The papa pigeon raised the two babies by...

New gal intro
Hi all, I have a 14 month old GSP I've been training for several months. I've had and trained dogs most of my life, but this is my first hunting dog. It's been fun and interesting so far. I appreciate in advance all the experience and help I may receive. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk

Puppy food help...
Hello all, our GSP turns 4 months old tomorrow, and it’s time to buy another bag of food. Currently, I’m feeding him Purina Pro Plan focus with the Golden retriever puppy on the front, and I’m considering switching to the Purina Pro Plan focus with the GSP puppy on on the front. The only difference...
