Re: How many have had their dog take out coyote?

Had a GSP that was death on coyotes and coons. Liked to fight other dogs too. Sent a few other dogs to the vet and sent even more running for the hills. Her nickname was our German Shorthaired Pitbull. Just born mean imho. She had to get stitched and glued up a few times but I personally saw her kil...

No duh there is risk every time barbed wire fences do enough damage to dogs on a regular basis. That does not excuse the way a lot of people treat their dogs and you know exactly what I am talking about. Call it what you want but any man that sends his dog where he is afraid to go is a coward.

I only support hunting with a dog whenever a reasonable level of safety for the animal is possible just like I only support hunting when the game can be killed humanely and for good reason. Im slowly turning my opinions against using dogs on hogs and hog hunting in general. It is dangerous for the c...

Cbf how are you hunting them? They dont respond to calling the same way turkey up north do. Best to just find the roost and post up between it and the nearest water source.

I actually live in Fl. I hunted Babcock once. Keyword being once. Frankly I think the hogs and Osceolas are too thick and burns too few and far between on most public land for consistent quail numbers. Between the palmettos, gators, and heat its not exactly easy on the dogs either. Someone more loca...

Sounds like you need to get yourself a versatile for hunting and keep the setter for a trial dog and part timer. If you wont be doing many late season hunts in water get a GSP. Generally gonna be cheaper than a DD or a PP. When the setter gets tired put it up and keep rolling with the versatile. I h...

In terms of energe boost I have my dog (and myself) on cordyceps mushroom supplements. That stuff gives you a whole new gear.

Hate hearing about this type of thing. Only a few ways dogs get like that and none of them are good. You should try fixing the animal. Just my two cents but... Nothing beats a lab as a waterfowl dog. Period. My GSPs were all great with cats. Theyre just playing. Our first dog used my moms morbidly obese cat as a chew toy. Never hurt it. Just put her mouth around it until it meowed then let go and repeat until they get bored. Sounds like your pets play the exact same game. Let them have fun.

Currently Im using an 870 for reliability sake since I mainly hunt marshes for duck but I had a Charles Daly 600 growing up that I honestly preferred over our 1100s.
