Re: Sharptail Grouse Recipe
Just like all recipes I've modified it to my liking. I used to chunk up the meat and pressure cook it. Then throw it in the chili, but the meat was kinda dry. Now I pressure cook it and pull it with a fork then put it in.

Re: Sharptail Grouse Recipe
This one was originally a vegetarian recipe but Ive modified it by adding pulled chukar meat. I think sharpies would be good to add also.

Re: Sharptail Grouse Recipe
I like sharpies floured and fried with a side of mashed potatoes and gravy from the drippings. I originally used this recipe for cottontails. Then when I lived in ND I started using it for sharptails, pheasant. Nowadays I do it with chukar on occasion. I debone the breast and thighs, and crockpot th...

Re: New Dogtra Pathfinder 2
I have the Dogtra Pathfinder and am very happy with it. Wouldn't hunt without a GPS ever again.
Never used the Pathfinder 2. Saw a video about the changes they made from the original Pathfinder. They really didn't seem too significant.
If you can get a good deal on one, I'd say get it.

Re: Grey Wolf
What proof did the Federal Fish and Wildlife service have that the ones they introduced were the same species as the ones that were originally here? Other than their own bias opinions. The biggest problem with the wolf introduction was the states were forced into it. There was severe opposition by t...

Re: Grey Wolf
Everbody is forgetting that when they brought them to Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana in the 90s they were called Experimental Non Essential. They also knew there was a small population in extreme northwestern Montana, and occasional occurrences in Idaho, Wyoming, and Washington. Those populations are e...

Re: Dogtra Pathfinder
Just wanted to make sure it worked without cell reception, and saved offline maps. Alot of the places I hunt have no cell service, or poor service. What are you wanting to do with maps on your phone?
I already have OnX on my phone it works great for knowing where property lines are.

Re: Dogtra Pathfinder
NC Quailhunter, and nevermind thanks for the response.
I looked back at my post. I didn't ask the question completely.
Will it still work without cell service, outside of a saved offline map area?

Dogtra Pathfinder
Just got my Pathfinder yesterday. Skimmed through the manual, and played with it around the house.
Looking for some answers that I couldn't find in the manual, or on the internet.

Re: I am very disheartened about hounds in America today.
You should look into getting a subscription to Full cry. Used to be people that wrote articles about blood trailing game. If i remember correctly they used German Wirehairs, Fox Terriers, Jagd terriers, dogs that were a little more under control than a hound on a leash. They would often turn them lo...

Dog gets ice balls between toes.
Anyone else have this problem? What do you do to try and keep it from happening?
I use Mushers Secret before hunting and have to reapply every so often while in the field.
Also works for wind burn, chapped lips.
