Looking for a female German Shorthair
I am in search of a Crosswind bred female German shorthair. Not more than 2 or 3 years old. Double bred Crosswind is even better. If you have one or know of one, please call me at (850)554-0615. Puppies too if they are bred that way. Thank you....

Re: Shooting around puppies
I just think some people will put anything down to make it sound like they have some sort of program they use. It's like looking at a post about how both dogs are used for guiding but the only pictures they have is of the dogs laying on the couch...

Shooting around puppies
This maybe overstating the obvious but I read more and more posts of people selling puppies that state they will have been introduced to birds and shot over before they leave. Or one that said that they begin ear conditioning with a 22 at 4 weeks old. Are these people really shooting around a 4 to 6...

Re: AKC walking trials and puppy stakes
Do them both and see which one you like. Walking puppy stakes will just be the dog running and hunting. Most of the time if they encounter birds it's because the birds might be hold overs. The dogs are judges on how they hunt, cover the ground and respond to you. No birds are generally released. A h...

Feeding supplements
I was wondering if anyone uses supplements along with there regular feed. I am happy with my food but when we are working harder they seem to need more and don't want to mix foods. Just wondering what others may use. Any input is always appreciated....

I've had 11 shorthairs over the years and this is a new one on me. I have a 2 year old male and has all of the hunt and style in the world. Steady to wing and shot as long as they are fly aways and he will not pick up a dead bird. I am working him on the table and force breaking him so no worry's, j...

Re: Pedigree
Most all of the dogs that I see were horseback field trial dogs. Tonnelis Rising Sun was an All Age dog. He was a really big runner from California. Rockin Rollin Billy was a big running Gundog from Arizona. He was killed at a fairly young age before his prime or he would have done even more. Severa...

Re: Pedigree
I think you have a solid bred dog. That being said though, asking an opinion about a pedigree is like asking someone if this is a good college football team. Given enough people you will get all kind of answers. The bottom line in my opinion though is, if you get a dog from titled linage, they have ...

Re: are Field Trialers afraid of wild birds?
My first real trial dog was an AA shorthair that I got when I lived in California. We ran all over California, Nevada, and Arizona. She was a true AA. After I moved to Florida we only bird hunted. She hunted right with you but when you saddled up it was on! She always knew the difference!

Re: Open invitation
Man that is a golden opportunity! It's hard here in Florida to even lease a piece for training because down here, deer hunting is most people's top priority. Thank you for offering up such a favor, even though i am to far to take advantage...

Black shorthairs
20 years ago I don't think I ever saw a black shorthair, today there are blacks in a ton of litters. I wonder if 20 yard from now if a liver is going to be rare. What do y'all think.

New to the forum from Florida
I am new to the forum and live in Pensacola Florida. I have Shorthairs. I have been hunting and field trialing since 1992 when I joined the Air Force and was stationed in Northern California. I love to hunt but I love the competition aspect of field trials. You bring your best and I'll bring my best...
