I hear this all the time males are more agressive, more hard headed etc.I don't know if it's the line I have or if that is just most peoples opinion, misconception or what but I find just the opposite to be true.My males get along better with each other then the females & are just as if not easier to ...

Hi Bruce. You may be right about the pressure issue...I was essentially speaking of seeing no-one this weekend, but that certainly does not mean that the hunters haven't been there beating the brush all season before me. This particular area is still about 1 1/2 hrs. from Sods. Yes, part 2 of your a...

Thanks for the input John. My wife and I rode the wagon with you in Ark. last year at the nationals...I had a futurity dog. These birds are obviously late season birds as the season ends here in WV, Feb. 29. However, it was the only time I have been able to get after them all season. As far as hunti...

Grouse...to shoot or not?!?!
I have a normal M-F 8a-4p job and also serve as a guide on our local shooting preserve. Due to the threat of weather yesterday I did not have a hunt/clients scheduled so thought I would take the time and try to get my "boys" (2 shorthairs) and myself on some native grouse, since I rarely have time t...

Maybe I didn't explain the situation very well....he has Never ripped the entire claw (toe - thumb) itself, only the nail. Everytime this happens the vet pulls the nail off. Just as if you were to break a nail. As for my fast eater. He still is; however he is slowing down but only because my hand is...

have your vet surgically remove the dew claws. No Way :!: I took him to the vet yesterday. She cut off the nail that was just hanging there on his front paw. Asked her about removing the dew claws now. She said that removing them now would be like having your own thumb cut off! She advised simply t...

2 ?'s - Dew Claws & Fast Eating
1) We have a 4 yr old GSP. The breeder we got him from did not remove either dew claw. He has ripped the nail about 3 times now. Currently, it is ripped again. We've taken him to the vet, they just take the nail off and it grows back. We don't really even know how it happens. Only notice it when he ...

WisketJAR, I have been sending my dogs off to a trainer now going on 5 years. I think you'll find that most will tell you that you probably shouldn't send your dog to training til they are at least 1 yrs old. Now, having said that, in that 1 yr time the pup is at home with you and should have create...

I am trying to plan a pheasant hunt to SD staying near/in Watertown. (I rec'd a packet of info from the SDGF for all the walk-in/public access areas and this area seems to have the most land available to the public within a reasonable drive time each day). I will be arriving Nov. 24/25 and hunting f...
