Terrible 2's??

My 7 month old setter recently started having accidents in the house again after 3 months of being completely house broken. He is not showing any signs of a bladder infection so I am confused on what's going on here. He is the first dog I've ever had that is allowed in the house so I've never run ac...

Check cord problems

Sounds to me like he's just having fun. I'm willing to bet that when he grows up a bit he'll figure out there are more fun things to do than carry it.

Your Dog's Vocabulary

Chief, come here, dead bird (his nose goes to the ground and he goes nuts looking for something), sit, whoa, kennel, go to bed, no, where's your toy, bring it here, outside, inside, go upstairs, good/bad dog, load up, hup (change of direction in the field) and go potty. Never really thought about it...

Lab breeders

I don't have much experience in lab bloodlines but some good bloodline names to look out for would be helpful as well

4 year old Setter

A little background information, I have always been in charge of doing the bird dog training for me and my dads dogs, which I've had success at. However, sadly my dog died too young around the same time I was about to leave for college and my dads dog hunted one more year then he retired her. He als...

Chewing

Yeah this little guy will be my 2nd Red Setter. My last one never really chewed or played with toys much. But this one is nuts about them and chewing.

Looking for advice on next pheasant dog

I am a big fan of setters. I'm a die hard red setter fan but I do love English setters as well. In setters you can get a dog that ranges real for or close depending on the bloodline and how it's parents hunt. Personally I would definitely really consider a English or red setter or a German shorthair...

Whoa Training

This is just a random question that I just want to see some feedback of different opinions. What are some of the whoa training methods everyone uses and at what age do you start? Personally I like to start at 10 months to a year with the whoa post and flank rope method but I just want to hear what o...

When I first registered I got an email saying I could log in once I was activated and that took 2-3 weeks to do so

I have a 7 week old Red Setter pup and he is a bundle of joy. I am just kind of curious at how others have dealt with the teething phase. Comment stories or suggestions! Thanks.

New Red Setter pup

Quite a bit to brag about this little monster. So far he's pointed a cat, stole my heart, and chewed up some sticks. Pretty proud of him haha Image

After about 3 weeks I finally got activated for this account. Perfect timing too because I will be picking up my new red setter pup today!
