Re: Teaching a two year old dog?
Update training and bonding is going very well, he has learned "here" very quick so I am proud! We are also bonding very well andquick, I have become pretty fond of the dog and he of me. I used to have to pick him up and shove him in the kennel, no he jumps up as soon as I drop the tail gate, I thin...

Re: Teaching a two year old dog?
well according to the advise you guys have given. I am moving in the right direction. I should have mentioned that last year whenever he did get out and hunt it was with me, and he retrieved every bird shot over him and brought then to me with out commands. So I think the time will be well invested.

Re: pheasant loads
I read an article ast year about pheasant loads and as far as the article went ,they recomended # 2 steel in a 3 inch magnum for less cripples and more dead birds. I tried it and it did real well I did not have as many cripples. This year I bought a case of Federal #3 in a 3 1/2" Mag for ducks and h...

Thanks everybody for all the advise. It only make sence that they be allowed to mark. If the dog didn't move to mark it would not be a dog I would want to take hunting. For all those wondering where I have been training in this tundra, I live in Windom and a couple freinds of mine have some CRP that...

I will put out a pheasant for a track and let the youngster track away, I will also put out a few quail and /or chukar in a field and let the pup find them, point, you may even wish to shoot them for your dog, I have. I guess this is the same s...
