You can’t go wrong with Topgun out of Central City, Iowa. I have a male out of their Prince William stud and he checks all the boxes.

Re: Quail Hunt
How have you been, Friday nights aren't quite as busy anymore, I need to start doing some more of this too. I had started a couple of weeks ago and my dog got hit in the front leg by a mocassin, so he has been taking it easy for a couple of weeks. I hope his recovery picks up pace a little, Christma...

snake proofing
I have a question about snakeproofing a birddog. I don't have issues around here with rattlesnakes, but we do have plenty of copperheads and water moccasins. If a dog is proofed on rattlesnakes, does that carry over to other species or do they have a different scent that the dog would not associate ...

Re: memphis area training group
Thanks for the reply, I wish the NAVHDA group was a little closer, but it does give member information in the area, hopefully that will help.

Checking on here to see if there are any active training groups in the Memphis area? Would be willing to share bird costs, etc.

woodcock migration
How common is it for Woodcock to stay in their southern range and and nest? Maybe they have always been residents, but I have found a fairly large, isolated population in sw Tennessee that is on nests. I have found a few sitting on eggs.
How common is this?

Re: New to the board
Thanks for the information, I have been looking at the possibility of NSTRA participation in the future. I have participated in NBHA back in the early 90's but moved away from the group and never got reconnected.

Re: New to the board
Thanks for the information, I have done some walking trials in the past but not NSTRA. I have been looking at the possibility of giving that venue a try.

New to the board
Hello everyone, My name is Keith and I am new to the boards. I am living in the Memphis area and was looking to see if there were any training groups in the area. I have a 10 month old GSP male that I am trying to train. He is really doing well but I have no other dogs to train him around, honor etc...
